This marks what seems to be the second development era. Gone are the interconnected linear levels, now replaced with a more Spyro-esque game progression, with hub worlds that would contain multiple smaller levels each.
Verdant Forest#
With a new development era also came Verdant Forest's first redesign, consisting of a hub world and two levels.
Hub World#
The hub world in question has three level gates, two of which can be entered. The third one is labelled as leading to an unavailable tutorial level (the gbm demo level has been guessed to possibly be an unfinished version of that unavailable tutorial, although no confirmation has been found yet). Entering the hub world for the first time has Fon get accompanied by a flower frog, while beating Acorn Grove and Hive Battle would each have Fon escort a different animal into the hub world. Once all 3 animals have been gathered, a cutscene plays that shows two more level gates getting opened before showing the game's logo, heavily implying that the hub world and two levels were possibly made for a playable demo of sorts.
Hive Battle#
Hive Battle has Fon and Slamuel team up to take down various enemy generators, one arena at a time. One notable setpiece in this level involves enemy generators that are placed too high up for Slamuel's punches. Instead, you'd need to launch bomb enemies into those generators to destroy them. After all the enemy generators have been destroyed and the final enemy gauntlet also has been taken care of, you get to charm the level's end animal, a mushroom turtle, with your singing.
Acorn Grove#
Acorn Grove is a more puzzle-focused level where you have to sing acorns to make them large, then plant them into soft soil and then sing them again to grow them into big trees, with the goal to first collect 2 chimes and then charm the level's end animal, a bird, with your singing.
