Handheld 210-in-1

A handheld that uses the LCD controller to show a more colorful title screen than the NOAC can handle.

Unused Graphics#

Found at ROM address $040010.

In the background pattern table, right before the font is this tile, which is never used by the menu.

The font itself is also strange; it makes an incredible effort to never waste graphics and always recycle tiles that would look similar to each other, such as the top of H, U and V, which combined with the font being drawn in a scratchy way at times makes some of the letters look off even in the menu itself. Despite this, there are still identical tiles: $02, $0A and $1F. $02 is used for the top of the number 0, while $0A and $1F are placed after numbers and before letters respectively, implying they are meant for the top of the number 9 and the letter O; however, both of them use $0A, and $1F is left unused.

This font is loaded to the sprite pattern table in VRAM; it has been used by consoles like the Game Prince RS-1, but not in this order.

Coming right after the font is this thing. It looks as if it could be something tangible, but it's unknown what it's supposed to be.

Palette Oddities#

The background palette 1 is unused, and all sprite palettes, with the exception of 0, used for the arrow, are also unused. Despite this, the transition effect done by simply increasing the brightness value of each color is applied to all palettes requiring it, including the unused ones.

Color 0 of palettes 2 and 3 are also set to $33 and $00, despite color 0 being transparent on the NES.
