Cars

This is a sub-page of Forza Motorsport (2023).

There are over 700 cars in Forza Motorsport that are available to players, but there is also a lot of unused content relating to cars not yet (or potentially never) obtainable. There exists a few cars that have unused textures, thumbnails and data hidden in the game files, many of which may appear in future Forza entries.

Badges in Texture Files#

In media/pcfamily/cars/_library/textures.zip/_fmnext, there exists a series of subfolders called "mfr", which when extracted and converted to dds/png files, shows badges of cars. Several unused badges were spotted, with many of them having potential, otherwise, confirmed to appear in Forza Horizon 6.

Audio Files#

In media/base/audio/cars, there are some xml files that contain audio information centered around the cars. Yet, there are some entries that contain unused vehicles. However, when comparing these files to Forza Horizon 5, some of them, such as CarEventMapping.xml have been ported from Horizon 5 and below with little difference.

Unseen Cars#

In past trailers, in-game material, and promotional material, there were some cars that were spotted, but didn't make it in the car roster. While there are no textures for these cars in the texture files, some of these cars were mentioned in the audio files, through seemingly unencrypted, such as /content/media/base/audio/cars/CarEventEngineMapping.xml and /content/media/base/audio/cars/CarEventEngineMapping.xml/CarEventMapping.xml.
