Final Lap Twin

This article has a talk page!
view on tcrf.net

This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

To do:

  • Regional differences (e.g. title screen, quest mode).
  • Screenshot comparison for this easter egg.
    • Some method of disabling encounters would be helpful.

This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: The English version's easter egg message appears to be unique. Attempt to decode it.

Final Lap Twin is a racing game featuring a "Car-PG" quest mode.

Easter Egg#

Searching a lone grass/shrub tile near Aronto (only accessible with the magic board) in the quest mode reveals a message saying that you "found a bug", followed by a string of what appears to be gibberish:

Japanese

English

...らかちみらとにもに
にかちしちのいもちとにかちのち?

...OFVR#G43$387

(Note that these are stored using the respective version's tile indices, not a standard text encoding.)

The string is not a valid password in either version. Instead, they must be decoded to spell out secret messages.

The Japanese Kana must be remapped to their positions on a typical JIS keyboard to reveal the message spelled out in Romaji:

Original Japanese Text

With Kana Remapped

Transcribed to Kana

English Translation

...らかちみらとにもに
にかちしちのいもちとにかちのち?

...OTANOSIMI
ITADAKEMASITAKA?

...おたのしみ
いただけましたか?

...Did you have fun?

English: TODO
