Dragon Knight 4 (SNES)

This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

The Super Famicom version of Dragon Knight 4 is what you get when you take a PC-98 eroge game, remove all of the adult content, and somehow still have enough of a game left over to release it on a home console. Needless to say, it's Japan-only.

Debug Menu#

This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: Find a less buggy/hacky way to get into this.

To access the game's debug menu, use the Pro Action Replay codes

8081FDFF + 8081FE7F + 8081FF83

then press X. The debug menu will replace the regular ingame menu.

Epilogue#

This option displays the ending, then returns to the game.

Main game#

dk4-stageselect.png

This option lets you go to any of the "story" or "simulation" (battle) areas.

Empty box#

This space intentionally left blank.

This option does nothing. Literally. Sorry, folks, but that's just the way it is.

Jukebox#

dk4-soundtest.png

It's a sound test! Unlike most debug sound tests, this one includes (somewhat Engrishy) song titles. There are a few gaps in the track numbers where songs from the original PC-98 version were removed.

Work disp#

dk4-ram.png

This option displays the current contents of memory. Left/Right increase or decrease the offset by 256 bytes, and Up/Down increase or decrease it by 16 bytes. Pressing B returns to the main debug menu.

Show time#

This option doesn't work correctly when the debug menu is accessed this way. Based on the name, it may have been used to display the amount of CPU time being used by the game.

Sim battle anim#

dk4-anim.png

This option lets you set up a customized battle animation (i.e. the sequences shown when one "unit" attacks another during a battle). Pressing Start will display an animation with the given parameters.
