Captain Blood is a pirate-themed attempt at the God of War template.
The game was originally planned for Xbox and progressed to the Xbox 360 and Unreal Engine 3 before being cancelled in the early 2010s. In 2021, builds from 2004, 2005, and 2010 surfaced online, providing a fascinating glimpse of what could have been... and then in 2025, a former member of the original development team assembled the resources to drag the game out of its tomb for a long-overdue finished(-ish) release on PC.

Multiplayer#
The 2010 build only features a singleplayer mode. There is no multiplayer option that can be chosen. However, there are references to a multiplayer mode within the game's files. There are five multiplayer arenas and five multiplayer menu screens referenced in resource\missions. Attempting to swap files to load these maps will softlock the game. Attempting to load a menu screen will result in nothing happening.
The maps are named:
- multiplayer_arena1
- multiplayer_arena2
- multiplayer_arena3
- multiplayer_arena4
- multiplayer_arena5
There are also loading screens located in the resource directory intended for these maps.
