Aironauts is a flying combat-based game which involves a series of levels, with each having different criteria for completion.

After beating the game, you will see a "Congratulations" screen declaring your character as the champion of the game (just prior to the credits sequence). When this screen appears, there is a 6-second window in which to input a secret code. The secret code requires pressing R1 + L1 + R2 + L2 + Start + Select all on a single frame. If the buttons are not pressed simultaneously, the screen will not trigger. (It is recommended to use an emulator's pause functionality to pause the game, press the buttons, and then unpause, such that the game will see all buttons press on a single frame.) If the buttons are successfully pressed, the game will switch to a slideshow between four slides, each showing photos of the game's staff. This slideshow loops forever.
