This is a sub-page of Proto:Transport Tycoon (DOS).
A playable demo released in late 1994, intended for a magazine and released on the TT-forums community in 2003. The demo contains the same limitation as other Transport Tycoon demos. You can only use Trains, and you can only play until January 1st 1932, after which the game will crash.

- The Demo has no sound implemented
- The finances report does not automatically pop up at the end of the year.
- Rails cannot be drag-placed.
- Planting a tree will also plant grass and heal a dirt tile In the final game, the tree will be placed but the dirt will only turn back into grass overtime.
- Clicking on a news article will not take you to the event in the article
- Disasters are not in the game yet. (Vehicles can still collide and break down though)
- The competing companies spawn immediately upon starting the game, and you cannot control how many will spawn.
- Competing companies will always build at a slow speed and there is no setting to change this. (In the final game it defauls to fast)

- There are a lot of small graphical differences. Forexample the small airport uses the hangar that is used for the big airport in the final game, and some houses use different graphics.
- Non-train Vehicles use generic names, forexample: "Grain Truck, "Old Plane", etc. as opposed to the brand names used in the final game. Trains and Busses are an exception to this.
- Trucks use the Cab-over design used for late era trucks instead of the Long-nosed rustic design used in the final game.
- The AEC Regal Bus is using the modern bus design, and not the Long-nosed design (Similar to a school bus) used in the final game.
- The smallest locomotive the Jinty Class steam is using a different design and is called the Drummond M7. In the Deluxe version of the game, this design is instead used for the "Kirby Paul Tank".
- The player character uses a mixture of male and female facial feature that would be gender locked in the final game. Female characters also wear the same suit as male characters.
- You cannot change the player character's face while the game is paused.
- This gallery shows some of the differences in question.
