An early build of the unreleased They Hunger: Lost Souls, dated November 30, 2006, surfaced alongside the 2008 build. This build is missing all Counter-Strike: Source assets, for some reason.
Build Differences#
Main Menu#
The main menu in the 2006 build was a static image with the Black Widow Games logo on the bottom-right corner. The 2008 build swapped it for a live background map. The menu buttons' positions are also different.

The 16:9 and 4:3 title screens for the 2006 build are also different:

New Game#
The screens are different between builds, though both use Comic Sans. The 2008 build has more selectable chapters, however the chapter text is missing. Both builds use the Half-Life 2 Ravenholm chapter image as a placeholder for Chapter 1.

Health Bar#
The health bar in the 2006 build is a snake-in-cross symbol placed in the top-left corner, while in the 2008 build, the player character uses a wristwatch to check current health. Interestingly, this watch is coded as a "weapon".

Maps#
The 2006 build has 7 compiled map files and 2 uncompiled map files, whereas the 2008 build is considerably farther along with 25 compiled map files and 10 uncompiled map files.
ths_map01#
The first of the seven compiled maps. It was meant to be the game's intro sequence, mirroring that of the original They Hunger. Note that the level has "nodraw" spots on places that you're not supposed to drive into, further proving that this was to be a cutscene and not a playable map.
The buggy (also known as the Scout Car) from Half-Life 2 is used as a placeholder, and is drivable.
This map is also present in the 2008 build, with a few differences. For starters, the Half-Life 2 buggy is missing its front wheels, meaning that it cannot turn left or right; and the Tau Cannon is mounted. A copy of this map is also present as "ths01_intro" in that build.

ths_map02_r50#
The second of the seven compiled maps. This was to be the game's first playable map, where the player wakes up in a restaurant after a car accident. The "_r50" suffix presumably stands for the map's "5.0" revision (or 50th revision).
Uncompiled Maps#
ths_map02_69#
A revision of ths_map02. Almost no different to the compiled map.
ths_map04_27#
A revision of ths_map04.
