This is a sub-page of Proto:The Fancy Pants Adventures: World 1.
This build is a half-complete build of World 1. The reason why Level 2's visuals cut off midway through is because there are two versions of Level 2, both being fairly early versions.
Unused Graphics#
Fancypants Man#
An unused animation of his crouch idle that's meant to be used.
An unused sprite thats supposed to be for rolling after being hurt.
RunPuff#
An unused animation for running effects.
Graphic Differences#
Door#
Title Build |
Final (v1.7) |
|---|---|
![]() |
The door is drawn more roughly, and its animation is much simpler compared to the frame-by-frame animation used in the final version.
Smoke FX#
Title Build |
Final (version 1.7) |
|---|---|
The particle effect is less detailed, uses fewer animation frames, and is not blue as it is in the final version. The sprite is also named LandPoof, rather than SmokeFX as seen in version 1.7. This sprite goes unused in most versions of the game, but is still referred to in the code.
Spider#
Title Build/Final (v1.6d and under) |
Final (version 1.7) |
|---|---|
The spider's sprite is named Baddie in this build. Its head isn't angled like it is in version 1.7, and the leg animation is much rougher and less polished compared to the smoother animation seen in version 1.7. The spider's sprite matches the one from the final and most versions before v1.7
Mouse#
Title Build |
Final (v1.7) |
|---|---|
![]() |
Compared to the final version, the mouse is sketched out and only has its idle sprite and aiming sprite instead of being finalized and having the full animation. It is completely unused in this build as it isn't called and when it is brute forced into the level, it is completely non-functional since it's in a fairly early state.

As shown in the image above, Level 1 has gone through many changes throughout World 1's development:
- The level's color palette is darker than in the final
- The floating platform just below the door is missing, and the blue block is replaced with a yellow cube which has "OMG!" written on it.
- The transition room is connected to the level.
- There is a sign which says "Get off the table!" and a sign attached with a rope with an arrow going outwards from the table.
- There is a mystery platform near the end of the level which is absent in the final.
- The bump after the spring has shifted to the side unlike in the final.
- The piece of ground near the chain of platforms is white and scribbled on unlike in the final.
Level 2#

Compared to the final version, The map is still on it's sketching phase.
- The top-left room was reshaped and feels larger in the final version. The upper-middle section also has new icy overhangs and icicles that weren't there before. Around the center of the map, the cave layout was reworked quite a bit, with wider open spaces and different room shapes. The large circular room from the title build was changed into a more natural-looking cavern, and the middle-right area was expanded into a much bigger chamber.
- The lower part of the map also changed a lot. Instead of several smaller areas, the final version has one large connected cavern that stretches much farther across the bottom. The left side features a deeper vertical shaft, and the bottom-right corner extends much farther downward than it did originally.
- Besides the layout changes, the cave itself was polished significantly. The walls are smoother, the rock formations look more natural, and details like icicles and snow buildup make the final version feel much more complete.
UI Differences#
Title Build/Alpha .79 |
Final (v1.7) |
|---|---|
The UI is much simpler than in the final version, as neither the health bar nor the life system had been implemented yet. There is also a framerate monitor which isn't present in the final game, most likely being a debug feature.
