Final Demo

This is a sub-page of Proto:Syphon Filter.

The last demo is found in the Official U.K. PlayStation Magazine CD Disk 47 Demo Disc. As it was released close to the game's retail release, there aren't as many differences that aren't inherited from the previous demos.

General differences#

• There are no FMVs in this demo.
• There's also no prerecorded demos and the game loads the mission once the menu FMV is finished like in the earlier demos.
• The level is identical to the final version of Georgia Street besides the demo ending at the Subway entrance.
• The pause menu runs much faster compared to all other versions of the game. Possibly from not being correctly setup for PAL.
• The menu is also missing sound effects and has an additional "CHEATS" option that brings up a blank menu when selected.

• Enemies say nothing when you throw grenades at them.
• Kravitch says nothing during his fight.
• CBDC agents don't say "Check your fire!" when fired at.
• Despite being the newest demo, the M79 reverted back to 10 starting rounds instead of 5 like in the standalone demo and the final game.
• The demo ends with "TO BE CONTINUED..." at the subway entrance, but plays the 989 Studios logo FMV instead of a promotional one like the early demos before booting back to the selection screen.

Similar differences from the earlier demos:

• No sound effect when receiving checkpoints.
• Enemies don't scream when hit with the taser
• No sound effect when walking on metal surfaces.
• There's no call from Lian about CBDC needing help two blocks away.

Audio differences#

• Enemies have a unique death sound not heard in any other version of the game.

• Gabe has a unique death sound when falling to his death.

• Lian Xing is referred to as "Mei Xing" (her original name) in two voice clips like the earlier demos. Same exact audio files and internal naming. The second is unused due to the demo ending at the subway entrance.
