Intro#
- The Universal Studios intro uses the chiptune version of the Universal theme, the same as in the movie.
- Scott walks in place when approaching Ramona.
- The placement of the crowd is different and background is really simplistic.
- The crowd in particular are monochrome.
- Scott and Ramona don't have their kissing animation.
- The heart background is little slower.
- The text scrolls instead of being shown 1 by 1, and has a different coloring.
- Gideon attacks Scott, but was replaced by Todd in final games intro.
- The placement of the evil Exes is different, and Gideon is not in the middle of the shot.
- Gideon's portrait in particular is a placeholder.
- The portraits (Shown both in the intro cutscene and before boss fights) of Scott, Ramona, Kim, and Stills much closer match their appearence on the box art than in the final game.
- During the ending of the intro, everybody just stands there, in the final everybody runs towards each other.
- Gideon is not darkened.
Title Screen#

Final |
|---|---|---|
The title screen, instead of the art produced specifically for the game, uses a compressed, pixel-art version of the cover of Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour, likely a placeholder while the title screen made for the game is not yet complete. And ": The Game" part of the logo is missing.
Gameplay#
- The color of impact when landing a punch on an enemy is pink (reminiscent of the "blood code" cheat in the final game.)
- Shops are labelled with big arrows and text reading "SHOP!"
- Knives uses earlier sprites during her assist.
- During the end stats screen, Stills is used as a placeholder.
- Lucas Lee's boss text blurb says "Look him up on IMDB..." instead of "Look him up on the web..."
- Lucas Lee has no boss intro sprite, instead, appearing as a red blob.
- Young Neil and Wallace Wells do not appear during the Lucas Lee Boss fight.
Music#
- Scott Pilgrim Anthem is missing in the main menu, instead it uses the character select music.
- Boss Rush intro music lacks instruments
- The Attract Mode's music only uses chiptune, while this could mean the track was not yet finished, it is more likely caused by a known bug that prevents the chiptune and instrumental tracks from playing simultaneously.
- "Another Winter" is not used for stage one; instead, "Leave the Past Behind", stage six's music, is used.
Cutscenes#
- The ending cutscenes for stages one and two use rough placeholder artwork.
- Each character's ending uses rough placeholder artwork and has no text or music.
