This is a sub-page of Proto:PlatinumQuest.
This is the earliest known prototype of Marble Blast Platinum, compiled on or around May 28, 2007. It predates the final build by a little under seven months, and contains many differences. This build was uploaded to the official Marble Blast servers on October 6, 2016.
Some of the assets in this prototype actually made it to the final game, but they were quickly replaced by new ones with the release of patch 1.10 of Marble Blast Platinum.
General Differences#
- This prototype uses different menu music. This music is known as "Metropolis", and 1.10+'s music is known as "Pianoforte".

|---|---|
This music is still present even in the latest version of PlatinumQuest, but it is not used by any levels (neither official or community) and can only be selected in the level editor.
- The start and end pad in the level previews use black/white edges, while the final game uses the correct one in its level previews.
- The skybox is much different from the final build. The prototype uses a skybox depicting a sun and clouds on a blue sky, while the final uses skyboxes that were generated with Terragen.
- The marble texture is different and less detailed than in the final game.
GUI Differences#
Title Screen#
The title screen in the prototype build takes on a look similar to the Marble Blast Gold title screen, with a blue background. The final game uses a different layout with the background being a screenshot of the Expert level "Battlecube Finale".

Level Select#
The level select menu in the prototype also takes on the appearance of what appeared in Marble Blast Gold. There are a few differences from Gold, however:
- The menu is now a gold colour instead of blue.
- The font used on the tabs is different.
- The level previews are now a circle, instead of a rectangle.
- There is a new tab for Expert levels.

HUD#
In the prototype and 1.00, the HUD takes on a different look. The timer/gem counter font is italic, and has a dark-blue colour to it. The PowerUp box has a green border, with the inside being red. The replaced assets in 1.10 and later have a different orange font, with a blue PowerUp box.

Level Differences#
General#
- Every level is very different from their final versions. The "pillar" aesthetic seen in the final game is nowhere to be found here. Some levels also use different assets.
- Level arrangement is different. An example of this is "Dizzying Heights", which was changed to a Expert level in the final but in the prototype it is an Advanced level.
- Levels such as "Bump Your Head!" are mostly unchanged from their Custom Level Archive (CLA) equivalent from Marble Blast Gold. In the case of "Bump Your Head!", it still uses triangular bumpers, while the final game uses bouncy floors.
