A prototype build shown at Gamescom 2009.

General Differences#

  • Text is in English.
  • However, for some text (e.g., "finished" if there are voiceovers), those will be in the user's language. If the user chose French, for example, the text will be in English but the voiceovers will be in French.
  • According to WinMerge, the Korean translation has some differences.
  • The update partition is different.

Title Screen#

GC Version

Final

The title screen has "GC Version" at the bottom, as it was built to present at Gamescom.

Mode Select#

The only options are with or without the Wii Balance Board.

  • Modes like the town or festival aren't selectable.

Character Select#

  • Only 10 characters are present in the character select.
  • Your team in bobsleigh is randomly selected in single-player mode.
  • Shadow isn't a selectable character but does appear in the Dream Snowboard Cross event image and has the record.
  • Blaze the Cat is not selectable but is seen in the videos as an opponent.

Video Differences#

To do:
Analyse; some of the videos are not identical according to WinMerge.

  • l_fsn1_con03j.sfd in Japanese has different tricks used; the perfect jump is signaled, while in the release version, the display immediately shows the tricks.
  • l_fsn1_con01j.sfd is a longer version of it (to be clear, both the prototype and retail versions have longer variants of their respective l_fsn1_con03j.sfd), and the same as the above applies.

File Differences#

To do:
A ton of files are different according to WinMerge.

  • BannerCo.tpl is not identical, as it still uses the English version.
  • FreestyleDream_Team.lua and SkiJumpDream_Team.lua are missing from the LUA folder.
