Unfinished/Scrapped Characters#

Eileen#

Watch on YouTube

Eileen was, judging by her ID data, the first iteration of March 7th before being scrapped and turned into the character we all know. She has enough data to be loaded in, and even has several battle animations, but at this point in development she has already been scrapped and several of her animations removed/not finished.

In the overworld, she has no animation transitioning back to idle from running, no sound effects or voiceover. Attack makes her freeze in place, unable to move until switching to another character, while Technique displays a text that can be translated as "[Temporary] Phantom" and does nothing else. Temporary in this context denotes this string is a placeholder.

Her Character menu data has her main icon as The Nous (Early name for Erudition), but her Traces show path of the Hunt. Under her skills she has no description of any of them except a very basic one and you can't even press to discover about her technique. Several of the skill icons share a striking resemblance to skills of Blueberry Blitz from Honkai Impact 3rd.

In battle, she shares her Battle info art with Dan Heng and has March 7th icon. Eileen has 2 battle animations. One for her basic attack, where she summons a plant to deal damage, and the other when she floats into the air and swipes her hand up, which is used both for her skill and ultimate. By using the skill, Eileen buffs herself with a placeholder buff (Given at the start of the battle as well). The Ultimate, when used, shares the splash art with Gepard, and deals damage to a single enemy with another type of plant.

It is known that she was used as a placeholder for some other various scrapped characters. She was scrapped sometime in January / February of 2021.

You can view her model here.

Pallas#

Pallas was the protagonist before the creation of Caelus and Stelle. They have no animations left over and can't be loaded as playable characters as they were abandoned long before these builds were produced. There is no other information on them leftover in the files or ever shared by Hoyoverse. All we have is them appearing in several Internal Screenshots.

It is notable that both the Female and Male Pallas model are both puppets (Including puppet-like limbs and hands similar to Herta). Likely to show that Pallas was an artificial container to host the stellaron. Pallas was scrapped by May 2021. You can view their models here.

Arlan#

Watch on YouTube

In the files, Arlan exists as a playable character already, before the Herta Space Station was available. In the overworld he uses Seeles model and his technique doesn't work, however he has a placeholder icon.

Pre-CBT1

Final

In battle, all of his animations are in place, but the camera work is completely broken and he is missing all of his character sprites. His skill icons also resemble Blueberry Blitz from Honkai Impact 3rd like Eileens, meaning they were probably used as placeholders for all the characters. His skill descriptions (Except Technique) and names are also matching the final version except with [Temporary] in front of them.

Natasha#

An early version of Natasha that appears to be closer to her final version. Her physics appear to be a bit bugged, and her model appears to have been nerfed in release.

Herta#

An early version of Herta, using Pela's model, voicelines, and icons as a placeholder. Here, her damage type is Fire rather than Ice.

Character Model Oddities#

Clara#

Clara is unfinished in her Pre-CBT1 model, like after they scrapped the first iteration of her design. The developers gave Clara more detailed and skimpier panties then in the final game. Her face, hair, and shading are all unfinished.
