Models

Some models are vastly different from the final, they will be documented here.

Guards#

Barney#

While the overall outfit of Barney remains the same, the face geometry and texture is significantly different. The uniform being more saturated. The face texture is based on the original Barney model but with minor touch ups. Of note is the presence of an eyeball which goes completely unused. Proper eyes were only added with the Playstation 2 port. However the final HD Barney still retains the eyeball in question.

Scientists#

All of the Scientists are different, sporting an appearance only seen previously in pre-release media. Their body texture is slightly different too, with less shadows.

Walter#

The Walter or Glasses Scientist is the most iconic Scientist model and was often seen in pre-release material. He has a completely different head and texture compared to the final model, but alas lacks the American tie seen in pre-release screenshots. The geometry of the head matches the unused Scientist player model found in the Blue-Shift files from the prototype.

Einstein#

Einstein also sports an entirely different geometry and texture, appearing more slender and realistic.

Luther#

Luther sports the most difference, as his face is very different from the original and the later revision. The gray hair on the side of his head is also much less pronounced.

Slick#

Like the rest, Slick also looks completely different. In an ironic twist of fate, he somewhat resembles Doctor Arne Magnusson from Half-Life 2: Episode Two.
