This is a sub-page of Proto:Gimmick!.

These prototypes of the cancelled US version are, in a lot of ways, a fusion of the Japanese and Scandinavian versions.

General#

  • The game starts you with four lives like in the Japanese version.
  • The music is identical to the Scandinavian version (aside from being converted to 60Hz), but the sound effects are different, sounding much closer to the Japanese version.
  • The debug features are the same as the Scandinavian version, and can be enabled the same way (via Game Genie code PAVVTZAA).

Intro Screen#

The intro sequence in the earlier prototype has a few differences compared to the other versions: The "Authentic Entertainment" screen is absent, and the "Gimmick!" (or in this case, "Mr. Gimmick") and "© 1992 Sunsoft" screens have been pushed forward due to its absence. In its place at the end is the "Licensed by Nintendo" screen from the Scandinavian version.

The later prototype's intro sequence is identical to the Scandinavian version, complete with the "Licensed by Nintendo" screen at the beginning (not shown here).
