This page details one or more prototype versions of F1 Pole Position 2.
A rolling demo prototype of Human Grand Prix II was released by SNES Central on July 22, 2012, originally purchased from Simon_Belmont from the now-defunct ASSEMblergames forum. An unplayable rolling demo, this demo showcases a race (alternating between single and two player racing), as well as the edit mode, before displaying a projected release date of December 1993.

The title screen has a slightly lighter gray background. A copyright sign was also added in the final game, while the game logo (but not the flag, as it layered separately) was placed higher.

Donington Park does not yet have a set lap record in this prototype. Additionally, the track background is the same no matter what track is currently being chosen.

All custom driver faces (except for the one that is supposed to be Ayrton Senna's) were redrawn in the final version, and the background color was changed. The disclaimer has yet to be added at this point too.
The rolling demo also had one additional built-in "free agent" driver, Nelson Piquet, which was removed from the final game. (Coincidentally, Piquet was also a hidden driver in F-1 Grand Prix Part III where he is unlocked together with Ayrton Senna, and he is renamed "Nick Parker" in the initial release of IndyCar Racing, so there might be licensing issue relating to Piquet at play. Piquet did have a video game named after himself, Nelson Piquet's Grand Prix Evolution, but that was years later.) Other than that, all built-in free agents have colored numbers: blue for Satoru Nakajima, red for Nigel Mansell, and green for Piquet.

The engine contract menu was redesigned in the final game. Additionally, McLaren uses the Ford HB V engine in this demo, which was upgraded to the HB VII model (which took effect from the 1993 British Grand Prix) in the final game.
