Allies Faction#

To do:

  • Take screenhots of Allies related differences between units, buildings and super powers, and compare with Release's.

Construction Yard#

Looks nearly the same as the retail version, except for the fact that it uses icon and cameo from the older design that can be seen in some old promotional videos and in Bullfrog's demonstration. The icon and cameo haven't been fixed up until one of Retail patches. The crane part is not animated either due to the animation not being finished or an error.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Power Plant#

It's missing some team-plates on its base and fans. Also it doesn't epicly explode on destruction.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Refinery#

For some reasons its construction animation is sped up, leaving a few seconds of nothing happening before the construction ends. Prospector also says its quote right when the construction starts rather than when it appears. Similarly to Construction Yard, it has an older cameo & icon, which haven't been fixed until one of Retail patches.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Boot Camp#

Other than the missing Team-plate on round plates, nothing else is different. Not even the radar is fixed.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Armor Facility#

Armor Facility is missing Team-plates on its beams. Its upgrade meter also doesn't work.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Seaport#

It's missing team-plates on several spaces. It also doesn't have the mysterious object that is present on the icon and cameo on the right side of the Seaport.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Airbase#

Other than the missing team-plates on the tower and missing upgrade indicator, Airbase shares the same unique quirk as Airfield, and thus is being able to dock in Cryocopters. This time it makes more sense since the building by default has repair drones. Cryocopters also come out of the sockets instead of the central area.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Defense Bureau#

Being named as "Tech Center" the building has only one major difference, and that is the building time: 10 seconds in Beta VS 30 seconds in Retail. Its sphere is also not animated, and has different textures for "windows". The name "Tech Center" has ended up being used for language localizations.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Walls#

Unlike Soviets and the Retail version, walls HAVE to be constructed inside the Construction Yard before being placed down. This is most likely not intended and so it was fixed in the further patches. The wall corner is exactly the same as in the release, missing team-plates and not being connected with walls themselves, not even with each other. Walls themselves also lack team-plates.

Retail v1.12

Multigunner Turret#

Ever wondered why the icon shows 8 rockets while the actual model has 3? 6 at max with Javelin Trooper inside? Turns out that the 8-rocketed turret DID exist during the beta test. Why exactly it was changed is unknown. As for the weapon changing depending on the infantry inside, unfortunately, most of weapons either aren't ready yet or they show the black texture. Additionally it's possible to put an Attack Dog inside, which in one of Retail Patches got removed.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Spectrum Tower#

Nearly every Team-plate was swapped by the time of the release. The only part that wasn't swapped is the middle. Gameplay wise it still seems to be the same.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Chronosphere#

Chronosphere looks as if it's in its ready state, even when it's still charging. It also requires only Airbase to be built rather than Tier 3 Tech building. The latter was fixed in the Patch 1.11 of the Retail version.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Attack Dog#

There are some differences, but they're only mainly with the bark ability, which was 6 seconds long without the High Technology Upgrade, and 9+ seconds with the upgrade. It also could stun heroic infantry, but it didn't really change the impact of the ability that much. Same bark effect differences are applied to the War Bear, so it's not something exclusive.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Peacekeeper#

The only visual difference is that their helmets and torso armors are not team-colored, while the shield is team-colored. Stats wise they're tankier, deal more damage at point blank and max ranges, and their shields somehow fully protect them from radiation. They use voicelines from Red Alert 2.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Javelin Trooper#

Javelin Troopers either have different voice actor or it's the same but the voice acting itself is rough. Their cost is higher, and so is the Anti-air range. Laser Targeting is blockable via buildings, which makes much more sense in comparison to the release. The front of their Javelin lacks red color, and the laser itself is much thinner than in Retail.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Allies Engineer#

The only thing that has team colors is the worker hat, which actually makes it hard to distinguish the player team of the engineer. His tent also has different texture, being white instead of dark green. The same tent doesn't give Engineer protection and stun resistance. His water scooter also has different style.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Spy#

While the default visual has no differences, the aqualung doesn't have any team-colored areas, which makes the spy even more sneaky than ever! Spy's disguising ability leaves an "explosion" landmark behind, and if the spy disguises as one of player's infantry then it'll trigger the "combat ost". His voicelines are the same as in Retail. No differences in infiltrating other than the missing 30 seconds long delay on Refineries that was added later to prevent the fast money harassment. Same change is applied to Shinobi.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Tanya#

Tanya's pants are not team-colored and lacks hero skirt. She also takes off her selection if she enters the building to detonate C4. Against vehicles she uses a different tactic: instead of going inside to attach the C4 that explodes in a second, she attached the C4 from the outside that takes longer, making her working similar to herself from Red Alert 2, from which she's also using the voice set. For whatever reasons her icon and cameo have black censor bar over her eyes, somehow likely to hide the identity of the actress before the release of Retail version. She's also more vulnerable to explosions and doesn't require Defense Bureau/Tech Center to be trained.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

MCV#

The only thing that is missing - the team-plate on its "nose". The rest is the same. Uses voicelines from Red Alert 2.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Prospector#

The only difference between Beta Prospector and Retail Prospector is that the build radius is given right when the unpacking begins. Similar glitch occurs with Sputnik, but since his unpacking takes far less time than Prospector's Outpost, it's not that noticeable. This glitch was fixed in Retail version BUT not for the case of Prospector unpacking while being shrank by Cryocopter, which is a banned move in competitive. Prospector costs 400 more credits, and the outpost itself doesn't get bonus HP when upgraded. The front plate is not team-colored, and the outpost is missing the upgrade lines. Uses Retail voicelines with radio effect.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Riptide#

Uses voicelines of both ground and water vehicle from Red Alert 2. No other changes except for higher cost of 900 credits, higher resistance against gun damage type, missing team-plates on round plates, and the fact that he's larger than usual.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Multigunner IFV#

Visually only the "nose" is missing a team-plate and being slightly larger. Most differences are related to passengers that enter the vehicle. Two most notable - Engineer IFV that can repair EVERYTHING, including infantry that is made out of flesh and bones, to buildings that aren't supposed to be repaired by units at all; and an IFV with Tanya inside, which has a different "weapon" model which actually shows Tanya being inside of the vehicle and operating the gun! The weapon model for Spy IFV is the same as for Tanya IFV, and both of them bug out a lot for some reasons, rotating itself in wrong directions and desyncing with the gun itself. Other differences: Peacekeeper IFV deals more damage; Dog IFV had twice less range and the stun lasted only 3 seconds instead of 5; Javelin IFV still has its rocket burst but also keeps its normal attack at much lower speed rate. The latter was removed in Retail. The IFV itself has bigger anti-air range and it's cheaper.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Guardian Tank#

Guardian Tank has his voicelines from Red Alert 3. His default mode is the same, but his laser pointer has a 2 seconds long delay between switching targets, which kinda makes it difficult for the tank to be helpful. Pointer also has no VFX on the tank itself when it's not used, so you cannot tell from the sight if the tank is in Attack or Support modes. His cost is also the same as Riptide's 900 credits. Missing quite a lot of team-plates.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Athena Cannon#

Uses Red Alert 2 voicelines. The laser pointer itself is not finished and is not visible when attacking the ground, only when attacking a unit and those are shown as one-colored orange lines, but the orbital hit itself is visible. The Shield ability is more durable but stays shorter and recharges longer. It's missing some team-plates, more notable one is on her circle "launcher". Can't fire over walls and needs direct line of sight to attack.

Retail v1.12

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Mirage Tank#

Barely team colored, talk about the camouflage! His list of props to pick seems to be broken since it keeps picking the same tree again and again in the attack mode. His Prism cannon thaws the ice, making Cryo + Mirage Tanks a pointless combo. His damage against infantries is far more decreased and not one-shotting any infantry on direct hit. The Camouflaging Shield mode uses a different texture and is slightly bigger, yet the switch cooldown being 10 seconds long instead of 2 makes play with camouflaging a bit less flexible. Uses voicelines from Red Alert 2.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Vindicator#

Has bomb models on its wings, which went missing in the Retail version for some reasons and were still kept on its icon and cameo. Less vulnerable while docking and deals more damage to Nano-cores, which basically gives it the opportunity to one-shot the full HP nano-core. The Return to base ability, similarly to MiG Fighter, lasts only 3 seconds but provides the double speed buff in exchange. His bombs also can't properly hit moving targets, which causes a real trouble while trying to hit fast-moving units. The reload time for bombs was twice faster than in Retail version. No differences in upgraded Vindicator. Uses voicelines from Red Alert 2. Team-plates for the tail are slightly different.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Apollo Fighter#

Only head is missing team-plates. Uses voicelines from Retail release, yet it seems that their order is slightly messed up. Less vulnerable while docking, has smaller attack range, Return to Airbase lasts only 3 seconds and gives 50% speed boost while already being slightly faster, has slightly less health and has more ammo.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Cryocopter#

The evil of Allies faction itself. Barely team-colored and it doesn't have idle animation so it stays static in air. His attack also works completely differently: instead of being a freezing ray that slowly froze the target until it's cancelled, Beta Cryocopter had same attack style as NOD's obelisk. The freezing "damage" was far higher however, which makes this weapon even "deadlier" than in Retail. The Shrinking Ray has lower range and different sound effect that still continues to play even when the weapon is done being used. The Frozen armor itself was also different: it instantly thaws when hit by Prism, Tesla or Wave-Force weapons. There also was no time limit for being over-frozen, so if the object was attacked by several Cryocopters for several minutes, then chances are high that the unit would stay frozen until the planet gets hit by Ice Age 2. The Helicopter itself is also tankier, and got weaker only in the last Retail patch. Uses voicelines from Red Alert 2.

Retail v1.12

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Century Bomber#

Uses voicelines from Retail version. Bombs drop seems to be a bit bugged due to the targeting since it sometimes drops only 5 bombs. The Paradropping ability can be used while docking the Airbase, which causes several issues: It won't paradrop anyone while on the Airbase, and when it raises into the air the first passenger that was supposed to drop actually visually gets stuck in the plane until the ability is used again. For other differences - bomb's damage radius halved, more vulnerable while docking, faster bomb reload and parachutes dropped slower. And it's also barely team-colored.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Dolphin#

Has different skin for both the Doplhin itself and the sound device, and its attack hits only one target, aka doesn't have "splash" damage.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Hydrofoil#

Uses voicelines from Red Alert 2. The weapon disruptor device doesn't have the team-plate. The rest is the same.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Assault Destroyer#

Lacks some team-plates on itself and its front cannon. Has different icon for its Black-Hole Armor mode. The Black-Hole Armor gives much bigger armor bonus, and the Destroyer itself is more vulnerable to Rocket damage type by 50%. Since its torpedoes are still broken even in Beta, and he wasn't given an ability to attack submarines with its main cannon, against submerged units it can't do anything and requires Riptides' fire help. Costs 300 credits more and uses voicelines from Red Alert 2.

Retail v1.12

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Aircraft Carrier#

Uses voicelines from the Retail version. Surprisingly enough, his cameo and icon show an early variant of Aircraft Carrier from game's concept arts. His EMP Missile fires slower, and the Short Circuit has bigger range & radius with smaller duration. Drones have their HP halved, they fly and reload slower, and they grant XP to the enemy that kills them. Has less Team-plates than in Retail.

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Top Secret Protocols#

Precision Strike takes longer to hit the target

Surveillance Sweep has different icon and ground marker when used. These differences make this super power look like as if it was supposed to be a big point revealer rather than "reveal the path from Point A to Point B".

Beta v1.0

Retail v1.12

Temporal bombs don't show the smiling emoji when hitting the 00:00 timer.

Chrono Rifts look like blue version of Iron Curtain. Functionality is the same except that the effect triggers instantly and everything keeps playing their idle animations without being able to interact with them anyhow. The icons for them show rather earlier concept for a super power that seems to be "swapping two or more objects between each other".
