This page details pre-release information and/or media for The Fancy Pants Adventures: World 1.

Watch on YouTubeIn 2008, Brad Borne made a video showing the history of Fancy Pants, which included footage of multiple prototype builds of the first game. Although some of these builds are publicly available (see here), several are not.

Unreleased Builds#

StiqueFigguer.swf#

Not meant to be a game, but an animation. The earliest builds use a part of this animation for getting up:

It was released on Brad's Patreon in 2020. The animation was theorized to be made around 2004-2005.

Earlier version of the FPA no hair build (titled The Fancy Pants Adventure)#

This earlier version is at 60 fps, despite every other build being at 30 fps. This earlier version has broken physics and a very early version of Fancy Pants Man who gets stuck in mid-air if he runs and falls off a platform (when holding an arrow key). This is one of the last builds to use Macromedia Flash FX. The idea of 60 fps in Fancy Pants games wouldn't be revisited again until the release of World 1 Remix in 2014.

Unknown build name, probably one of the first to contain hair on Fancy Pants Man#

This build is the earliest build that has FPM with hair and the first to have a version of Level 2. It's mostly line-art and is the last build to use the first lean animation. It is also the first confirmed build to use Flash 8.

Early build of World 1 1.7#

In the first iteration of the Borne Games website (2007-2008), there's an early version of FPM's World 2 sprite and a spider from World 1. It is considered an early World 1 1.7 build.
