Debug Menu#

In the closed beta Test, there was a debug menu accessible by clicking down both joysticks or hitting the keyboard buttons that map to the joystick buttons. The menu had the ability to teleport the player to various locales, give the player any and all items/accessories, unlock characters and abilities, and affect the battle if there was one going on. The menu was removed for the final release.

Concept Art#

The Super Neptunia RPG Deluxe Pack contains early sketches of characters, battle motions, enemies, etc. seen in-game.

Characters#

Histoire#

In the second and third illustrations, Histoire originally sported a more Steampunk look, with her dress in the third illustration being replaced with a romper. The first and fourth early drafts were close to her design in the first game, Hyperdimension Neptunia.

Chrome#

Chrome had a couple of prototypes before being finalized:

  • Her prototypical outfits were designed with dresses and skirts, as well as sleeves and scarfs. Her gloves were white, her boots reached up to her thighs or stopped at her ankles, and one design depicted her with a headband.
  • One early design depicted her with a witch’s hat in a blue-and-white dress accented in gold.
  • One of her early designs suggests that her cape would’ve included a feline-eared hoodie.

Artisan#

  • The right concept arts originally depicted her a lot younger compared to her mature appearance. She also had a swept bang, her hair was shorter, one particular illustration depicted her with blonde hair, she wore pants, and instead of a trenchcoat and black gloves, she would’ve donned detached sleeves and an off-shoulder shirt. Her dress was also brown instead of white.
    • Her sword, which would be designed as a paintbrush, was originally also going to be designed as a whip.
  • The top-left concept art added some purple accents in her outfit and weapon. She also appeared to have a cross brassiere underneath her dress.

Filyn#

Her earlier designs were much younger, her prototypical outfits were small dresses with geometric and/or gothic elements, one design had her in bloomers, and her hair decors were originally crown-shaped. When her design was finalized to what is shown in-game, she had an eyepatch, a white version of her main outfit, and one design (shown at the top-right) minimized her cap.
