Careful, you'll lose an eye.

This page or section needs more images.
There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this.
Specifically: Better screenshots for the battle comparison. Screenshots featuring Lisa and any of the monsters in the trailer would be preferable.

This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: Is there more prerelease content that explains the delay/renaming?

Consumer Software Group TV-GAME COLLECTION '91 Autumn-Winter#

Watch on YouTubeAt 55:39 in the embedded CSG video is a trailer for Silva Saga II, two years before the final release.

At this point, the game is being advertised as just Silva Saga, with a predicted 1992 release. While a Silva Saga would get a release that year, it would be a different game released for the Famicom, while this game would be renamed to Silva Saga II. Confusing, huh?

  • While a cloud-reflecting effect is applied to the water in the final game, it uses different graphics in the trailer. Additionally, while the trailer depicts the town during the early evening lighting, the final game does not show the reflection effect during this time.
  • The player moves much faster in the final game.

Prerelease

Final

  • The title screen uses the same logo design as the final, but the II and subtitle were added to the logo.
  • The TM was moved more to the lower right, and copyright information was added to the bottom.
  • Rather than reusing graphics from the opening animation for the background, the final game uses a unique background instead.

Final

  • The battle HUD is different and much more basic in the trailer. The unused party slots have a plain grey space instead of the decorative pattern of the final. The party takes up the whole width of the screen instead of two thirds, and there is no command selections visible in the trailer. The fonts are different.
  • The trailer has images placed next to the profile pictures, possibly for magic.
  • The character portraits have different art.
