This is a sub-page of Prerelease:Saints Row 2.
The actual prerelease revelation.
2007#
September#
"Saint's Row 1.5" is the best way to describe the state of the game at this point, featuring new features but still having a lot of the first game's roots showing visibly. A German magazine was given first access to the game at this time where most of the famous teaser images originated from.
Earliest Map#
Though the game was uncovered upon its public revelation in a German magazine (hence the finalized logo), the map is notably different, and quite possibly the earliest full map of the batch.
- Several location elements from Saints Row were still present on the map;
- There were no additional buildings surrounding the Ultor Dome near the bridge.
- The highway bridges leading to the Suburbs and Downtown district was still intact, layout-wise.
- The top of the Ultor Dome reused its design from Saints Row.
- The shopping road in Nob Hill wasn't extended yet.
- The "holes" in the middle of the closed-off houses near the High End Retail district were still present.
- The Nuclear Plant location had a very different island shape and is overall unfinished.
- The Prison island was further away from the mainland.
- The Trailer Park location was much smaller, and there was no Mourning Woods Cemetery.
- The road surrounding the Saints Row Church now matches that of the final.
- The layout of Stilwater University was slightly different; there wasn't a complete road bend around the main building, there were a lot less buildings, the stadium was in a different position and the University Dock was simpler in design.
- Kanto didn't exist.
- There was no Sunnyvale Gardens Fishing Dock.
- The ruins at Amberbrook Museum were different.
- One of the seaports were not sunken.
circa. Autumn#
Later Map#
A slightly later map of Stilwater was given to Flippy from Mike Watson, but an alternate version with Gang Territories was oddly found in the Polish Collector's Edition of the game1. It is unknown when the exact timeframe of the map is, but judging from the dates of the concept arts its assumed to be from late 2007.
It contains a number of curious differences, many pointing to scrapped content;
- The removed Piracy and Guardian Angel Activities was present.
- Ship It! was originally named High Tide Ride.
- Train Stations are present on the map, implying they were once functional like in Saints Row.
- There was originally a Parachute Shop, which seemed to do with customizing the parachute.
- Brass Knuckles didn't exist as a business.
- There was originally a secondary music shop called "Aural Fixation", located in the Suburbs Expansion district. Both of them were replaced with a regular Scratch That store in the final.
- The scrapped Yacht and Barrio Cribs were present.
- There was originally a Sloppy Seconds at Wardill Airport, but was likely replaced with a Charred Hard Burgers in that area.
There's also a handful of location changes;
- One of the sunken docks was originally a stronghold, before the location was completely removed in the final.
- There was originally an unspecified weapon shop present in the Saint's Row district, but removed.
- There was an unspecified clothing store present in the Saint's Row district, which would be Impressions in the final.
- There was a Sloppy Seconds store present oddly at the airport; was likely a placeholder for a scrapped souvenir store?
- Company of Gyros originally took the place of Freckle Bitch's in Misty Lane.
- There was originally a Ship It! in the Marina district.

- There is no sound present.
- Interestingly, this video shows the removed Human Torch Activity where you have to cause enough damage to nearby pedestrians by spreading fire.
- The "replaceme" graphic is used as a placeholder.
- The Mission/Activity/Stronghold name on the top left still used the design from Saints Row, albeit with the new text font.
