This page details pre-release information and/or media for Rhythm Heaven Groove.

After the less-than-satisfactory sales of the previous two entries, the likelihood of a fifth instalment was unlikely. It was a full ten years after Megamix when Rhythm Heaven Groove was revealed.

The game was released on July 2, 2026, and received "generally favorable" reception in popularity, landing at No. 1 in Japanese sales charts maintained by Famitsu, and recording 393,378 copies sold in its first week ahead of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream and Star Fox. The game held the top spot for three weeks with more than 600,000 copies sold, only to become beaten behind Splatoon Raiders, before rising back into the top spot for six weeks. It was being pushed down behind Capcom's Onimusha: Way of the Sword when that game was released, until it got back into the top spot again, but when Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave was released, the game slipped down into third place. In the UK, it debuted at No. 5 behind Star Fox and ahead of Football Manager 26.

As of September 20, 2026, the game has sold more than 1,022,613 physical copies in Japan, even surpassing the sales of the series' previous installment.
