Tokyo Game Show 2004 Trailer#
- Liberation Missions display the currently selected character's portrait on the top left; although it was removed from the final, it later re-appeared in the DS port.
- The floor panels use a much more basic design.
- The Custom Gauge reuses the graphics from the fourth game.
- The Custom Screen graphics look near-completely different.
- The wrong icon is used whenever a Chaos Unison is activated; in addition, MegaMan's DarkSoul does not appear in the animation.
- Chaos Unisons work different to the final game; not only do they last three turns instead of one, but failing to correctly time a charge shot will cause MegaMan to revert to the standard DoubleSoul, rather than to his base form.
- ProtoChaos uses a slightly different palette, with white highlights instead of gold.
- The standard and Chaos Unison charge shots use a much smoother animation than the final.
- There is a unique "BLOCK" graphic that replaces the standard "UNISON" graphic whenever a Dark Chip is used.
- MegaMan has a turning frame for surrounded battles.
DoubleSoul/Soul Unisons and Chaos Unisons#
NapalmMan's Chaos Unison uses a different emotion window, the floor panels are more basic, and the Custom Gauge's graphics are reused from Battle Network 4. Interestingly, it seems like Chaos Unisons were meant to last three turns (like DoubleSouls); the final game would reduce them to one turn for balancing reasons.
In addition, all Chaos Unisons had their number recolored in the final.
