Early Character Designs#
Neptune/Purple Heart#

Proposed redesigns for Neptune and Purple Heart's outfits, before they were finalized with Jersey Dress and Lost Purple respectively.
- As Neptune, she originally wore a detached sleeved dress with some additional accessories (a detached collar with a bow, a belt, a USB cable on said belt), while her other designs were modified versions of her signature Parka.
- As Purple Heart, while not significantly changed, her early attire was more of a modified version of her original Purple processor, with one design having an exposed backside.

Noire, Blanc, and Vert#

The Ultra Dimension versions of Noire, Blanc, and Vert were given different outfits and processor units to represent their real-life companies first manufactured game consoles, respectively the PlayStation, Nintendo Entertainment System (also known in Japan as the Famicom), and Xbox.
- Noire's initial designs were more in-line with her Clear dress, some being closer to her final design but with stylized features, like the addition of Pocket Stations; while Black Heart had a different processor outfit that looked more of a modern sci-fi bodysuit than that resembling the original PlayStation.
- Blanc's initial design didn't have much emphasis on the shrine maiden aesthetic, instead going for a modified, fantasy-like attire, with one design depicting her with a bow, similar to her original design in the early stages of Hyperdimension Neptunia’s development. Her HDD form was more of an amalgamation of Nintendo's earlier consoles (NES/Famicom, SNES/Sufami, even the Virtual Boy as detailed in her top left design), instead of just representing the Famicom/NES. However, the other designs (minus the Virtual Boy) would be included as optional processors in-game.
- Vert's design was much closer to her Hyper counterpart's, while her human form was supposed to be a wide ponytail tied in braids, and one design having her wear a black version of her Wind Green dress. Her Green Heart form showed more skin in the legs and armpits, and had circular orbs in her shoulder pads. The bottom right design depicts her as a child in both her human and HDD forms, with their HDD design having a pistol gun. This gives off the impression that Ultra!Vert was supposed to be a young girl to distinguish her from her Hyper self.

Plutia/Iris Heart#

- As Plutia, she went through the most changes of her initial drafts when compared to her final design. Originally, she was a shy, meek girl with short hair and a white outfit with pants and detached sleeves. She also wore a bow at the back of her hair instead of at the bottom, and was supposed to be more of a mage-type character as seen through her witch outfit in one of her drafts.
- While not as drastic as Plutia, Iris Heart had a more revealing dominatrix-styled outfit, with little emphasis on the Mega Drive design elements on her attire. Additionally, her original design was that of a bespectacled lady with a hat and noticeably modest clothing.

Peashy/Yellow Heart#
There was a noticeable amount of cat motifs in both her early human and HDD designs. Her HDD design also originally had a skirt, with her first design being black instead of white. Meanwhile, her human designs had her wearing a different jacket, and her top-right design was completely different, wearing a dress and having low pigtails.

Other Characters#

Early designs of the Ultra Dimension versions of Histoire, Arfoire, IF, and Compa, as well as more Peashy designs.
While Arfoire's V design remains unchanged, V Histoire originally had the same hat of her Hyper counterpart, while Young!IF and Young!Compa wore the standard pre-school outfit that many young girls in Japan wear during their early years.

Croire#

Her designs in early drafts were different compared to her final design. Instead of having brown skin, short hair, and a black dress; she had pale skin, longer hair, and her attire was either a gothic lolita dress, a genie harem, and a tech-y dress. Her later designs were closer to her final look, but her hair was longer and her cape was initially a pair of detached sleeves; two pre-final designs also depicted her with cat ears.
