Dragon_Ball_Shenron_no_Nazo_FC_Famimaga_October_3_1986.png

The October 3, 1986 issue shows pre-release screenshots of Dragon Ball: Shenron no Nazo. Goku uses a completely different, smaller and much cruder sprite in these screenshots. His Gi is also depicted as white due to the entire sprite only using one palette, whereas the final sprite properly colors it orange by giving the bottom half of it a different palette.

Manual#

This weird edited version of the Shenron no Nazo version of Master Roshi can be found in the manual. It's possible that this is either an early version of Dragon Power's Turtle Hermit, or something whipped up for the manual to bypass legal issues.
