Demetrios was originally going to be released on Windows back in the early 2000's, however was later canceled around 2002.

The game started development when Fabrice Breton (before the CowCat brand was introduced) was only 15 years old in 1999, the game was only in French at this point of development.

Only footage of the build remains online, although was released in playable form.

This page or section needs more images. There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this. Specifically: Comparison images are needed, there are a lot of differences.

• The game is only in French.
• HUD elements were very different from the final.
• Different art-style.
• Cutscenes were originally animated at one point, before being turned into comic-book cutscenes in the final game.

Found on the official website of the game is a .gif of where Bjorn is talking, notably the gif was made from an earlier build of the game, which Bjorn's portrait looks different and has different shading.

Dialogue for the .gif exists within the files of the game inside PCtest.txt

It also has an easter egg for the developer's next game BROK the InvestiGator which was released in 2022.
