ABBA (Angry Birds Big Adventure)#
Watch on YouTubeOriginally, the game started as a completely different game titled Angry Birds: Big Adventure before becoming a sequel. Later, the game started over, and has its temporary name of Angry Birds: Under Pigstruction. The game involves the element of time-travelling much like Crash Bandicoot: Warped, and one of the developers claimed that the game was very story-driven in early production. There is concept art of the two periods: A prehistoric level, and a level named King's Diner, which was set in 70s. The game was soft-launched in May of 2015 with the temporary title, before going into Angry Birds 2.
The logo, in question would read out as ABBA, stands for Angry Birds Big Adventure, with the subtitle of Next-Gen Angry Birds. This was used as the internal project name, and according to developer paths, it was going to be iOS, much like its previous title. The logo and other concept art was revealed in a video posed by the GDC (Game Developers Conference) channel in a video titled "The Guy Who Ruined 'Angry Birds'".
Cutscenes#
Much like the first game, there were cutscenes that were planned, but scrapped. They are going to be animated. Concept art was shown in the video on the right.
Time Periods#
This section will cover the time periods.
King's Diner#
A 70's themed level filled with toasters, jukeboxes, and other stuff.
Under Pigstruction#
Angry Birds: Under Pigstruction is the actual Angry Birds 2 as a tentative title, after Angry Birds: Big Adventure was cancelled. The game was started over, but not yet, as interestingly, build paths of the game still use the "ABBA" name.
- A soft-launch of the game was released on March 5, 2015, on Canada. The game is noticeably different since it is 5 months before the final version, including some features never seen.
