Getting Working Nindows Input#
There are two hurdles in getting Nindows input to work. The first being Nindows not supporting Port A's JAMMA device, and the second being emulators not allowing you to use any other device whilst playing on an arcade platform.
Change Nindows Port#
The following cheat code will make Nindows use Port C instead: 0007d484 0000000c.
Port B isn't used as Flycast internally forwards its inputs to JAMMA player 2 instead.
Emulator Controller Input Workaround#
This requires a Flycast patch to make it always process controller inputs whilst playing arcade systems. While Flycast already inserts controllers into Port B and C just to provide games with VMUs, they are programmed not to accept input.
Flycast v2.5 (Win64) Binary Patch#
Starting at 11BB44 in the EXE, replace the next 8 bytes with 90.
Flycast Source Patch#
At line 76 in core/hw/maple/maple_cfg.cpp should be if (settings.platform.isConsole()). Replace the condition with 1.
This works with v2.5, but is subject to change.
