This is a sub-page of Development:Sonic X-treme.

In 1999, Andre Dirk of "Secrets of Sonic the Hedgehog" received an e-mail from Rob Harris, the lead artist on Sonic X-treme. After some chat between e-mails, and with the help of Stealth, Harris sent over the entire collection of his sprites which were to be used in the "final product".

Sonic Sprite Animations#

These are all of Sonic's animations that were meant for pre-"Project Condor" incarnations of Sonic X-treme, when Sonic was a pre-rendered sprite. Some of these animations were used in builds such as the Point of View Saturn Engine build.

You can also find the original 3D model render of Sonic, hosted on Rob Harris's website.

Balancing#

Sonic balancing on a ledge.

Bungee#

Sonic using bars and swings.

Hurt#

Various hurt animations.

Drowning#

Five different styles of drowning animations for different directions, some animations of presumably Sonic getting an air bubble, and some animations for Sonic getting sucked into something.

Jumping#

Some of the animations included in the collection are already seen in builds like the Point of View demo and thus won't be shown here.

Running#

Sonic running on loops.

Standing#

Some idle animations of Sonic tapping his foot, a shuffling animation, a rotating animation, and a victory pose.

Enemy Sprite Animations#

Various Sonic X-treme enemies that come from pre-"Project Condor" incarnations of Sonic X-treme. Not many of them ended up being in builds.

Some of the enemy's original 3D renders can also be found on Rob Harris's website as well as descriptions for each one, with there being some differences between the pre-rendered sprites and original models, and certain details being much more clear like the crab having a shell on the back.
