The file modification dates may give clues as to when the game was developed. The oldest files are dated 1991-11-11 and 1991-11-14, while the most recent files are dated 1992-08-05 and 1992-02-21. A bulk of the files are dated around December 1991 to January 1992.
OBJ Files#
We get to see a few unused objects in action, such as the Hammer, Shovel, and hand, as well as the unused angel creature. The sleeper was also meant to do more actions: falling asleep, rolling (possibly when tumbling down hills), and falling through thin terrain. There is also an alternate design for the sleeper, which looks more 3D and realistic (and wouldn't entirely be out-of-place among the Yoshi's Island prologue cutscene graphics). Another sleeper design, with an orange-yellow cap, is located in the z-sword directory.
NOTE: Unless the .COL file is specified, most gifs were made using the sleeper.COL palette.

SCR Files#
HUD#
bg1-meter.SCR + bg1-meter.CGX + sleeper.COL
Interestingly, this file shows two more unused HUD icons:
Super Donkey Levels#
These files are level layouts which all use graphics from Super Donkey.
Forest Tileset#
The second and third files appear to be level 1 from Super Donkey, while the fourth and fifth appear to be level 3. The sixth and seventh appear similar to level four, but aren't an exact match. The first, second, eighth, and ninth files don't appear in Super Donkey, and the eighth and ninth don't even have the "start" and "exit" rings that all of Super Donkey's other levels have.

Village Tileset#
The first file is level 2 of Super Donkey. The second file is level 2 with the "start" and "exit" rings removed, along with the stone block that the "start" ring was on. The third file doesn't appear in Super Donkey and seems to show the interiors of the houses.
CGX Files#
NOTE: Some images have been given blue backgrounds for better visibility.

Some acorns which could possibly be knocked down from above.
A fruit which looks similar to the berries from Super Mario World.
