CS 248 was a Stanford University course entitled "Introduction to Computer Graphics". From 1999-2008, the central project of the course was a 3D video game, with an option to enter the game into a competition that offered various prizes (including games and other items donated by companies such as EA and Blizzard). Many of the submitted games can be seen here.
For better or worse, pretty much all of the games involved have fallen into obscurity, and some of them have no known copies floating around online.
