3,000-Point Bonus Bug#

This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: Famicom Mini version seems to change the same byte - other changes are probably GBA-specific stuff - but confirm this. Also, it seems like the 3DS VC versions is not fixed.

When you uncover every gold bar on a bonus round, the game rewards you with a 3,000-point bonus and the text "PERFECT 3000!" However, the World version of the NES ROM has a wrong bit-flag in the score addition routine which controls the decimal digit to be modified, resulting in the game adding 30 points to your score rather than 3,000.

The Animal Crossing, e-Reader, and Virtual Console versions fix this by changing byte $80 to $08 at PRG-ROM offset 0x0561. This can be replicated with Game Genie code AATGPS or AAVGPIEE.

The Famicom Mini (Game Boy Advance) version also fixes this bug in a similar manner.

It appears that fixed Famicom cartridges were available on request some time after its release, therefore this is likely the origin of the aforementioned fixed versions.

Curiously, the version present in Nintendo Entertainment System - Nintendo Switch Online does not fix the bug.
