Wardner (Genesis)

A port of Toaplan's 1987 quarter-munching platformer arcade game of the same name. This version, while making some downgrades to the presentation, makes various changes (hence the "Special" in the Japanese version's name) including new bosses, various changes to the levels (mainly in the latter half the game including Stage 4 being split into two stages with slight extensions), plus a different intro and ending.

US

For whatever reason, the US version opts for a shortened version of the game's Japanese name rather than using Pyros, the name the arcade game was given in that region.
