Varia Metal

Varia Metal is a pretty standard vertical shooter. Has a neat transforming mechanic, though.

To do: According to Arcade Database, there is apparently a currently (as of this writing) undumped prototype with Japanese voices and text. Add info about it when it finally gets dumped.

Unused Graphics#

The graphic ROMs contain logos for Sega and Taito which are never displayed. It's likely that these companies were intended (or at least potential) publishers for the game. The palette data doesn't seem to exist anymore, so a close match was used.
