Turbo Prop Racing

Turbo Prop Racing is a high-speed racing game involving boats and negotiating very rough waves.

Regional differences#

The game was originally called Rapid Racer for its European release, and remained as such for the Japanese version. The North American version was renamed to Turbo Prop Racing. As such, the game's menus and movies were revised to reflect these changes.

Soundtrack#

The European version has a soundtrack by Apollo 440, which was also retained in the Japanese version. The North American version replaced the soundtrack with one by Loudmouth, with additional compositions by Jason Page.

  • Vibration support was added to the North American and Japanese versions.
  • The green, yellow and blue collectible tokens are an interlocked RR in the style of the game's logo in the European version. These were changed to a propeller, wrench and clock, respectively, in the North American and Japanese versions.
  • Passing a checkpoint in the European version will cause the timer to flash the amount of time that is added before showing the current remaining time. The North American and Japanese versions flash the timer a few times before updating it with the time extension.
  • In the North American and Japanese versions, the speedometer now displays a KPH value.
