Askiisoft's debut game, Tower of Heaven is a short platformer that has the player make their way up the titular tower while a capricious god constantly changes the rules of the game.
Flash Version#
Unfinished Leaderboard#
A non-functional leaderboard and graphics for a leaderboard menu button are present in the game starting in Version 1.04.
Law #5 in Level Creator#
Law #5 kills the player upon opening a Book of Laws.
While the level editor contains code that saves this variable, it doesn't do anything except for adding the text "5. Thou shalt not look at the rules" to the list of rules displayed in the custom level intro.
Windows Version#
Level X/Test Level#
An unused room can be found in the game as "level_X" in the source code.
When entering the following room you are welcomed with a message saying "Test level."
This room contains an unused object, an hourglass, which increases the level timer by one minute. There is no sound when picking up this collectible. It also has a small animation of sand particles falling down.
Unlike all used rooms, this room has a simple line as a floor instead of textured tiles like in all other levels.
Opening a Book of Laws causes the game to crash, presumably due to no rules being in the book.
The entire room consists of:
- 2 Moving blocks
- 2 Static blocks
- 2 Fans
- 1 Ceiling spike
- 1 Hourglass
- 1 Book of laws
Unused Graphics#
The game has 4 textures for single-tile vines like in Level 8. Those could've been used for a level editor as in the Flash version.
As the developer says: "I think it's one of 3 promotional pictures that godsavant drew for the game. I probably just put this in the source because I liked looking at it."
