A good ol' shoot 'em-up where you control a plane fighting against a mysterious military organization above various districts of Tokyo.
Version Differences#
Three versions were released:
- tokioo is the original Japanese version. Known in MAME as older.
- tokio is the revised Japanese version, which replaces an area to avoid legal issues. Known in MAME as newer.
- tokiou is the US version, which uses the revised Japanese version as its basis.
Note that you can set the Japanese version to English via DIP switches, and it will change the title screen as well.

Amusement Park#
The original Japanese version features an Amusement Park area which was based off Tokyo Disneyland. In the revised Japanese and US versions, the entire area was replaced by water. This change was probably made to avoid a legal dispute with Disney themselves.
