The History Channel: Battle for the Pacific is one of Cauldron's many, many below average shooters, this time set in World War II. It's also one of the many History Channel licensed games that would release in mid-to-late 2000s.

YOU WILL FIND THE CONTENT AND THIS IS AN ORDER!

To do:

  • Find a way to somehow get the Infiltration mode to work.
  • Document the test maps.

Unused Game Mode#

Present in the files is an unused game mode called "Infiltration". It is disabled by default and you need to modify an .xml file for it to show up, but even if enabled it cannot be played due to having no corresponding .xml files for setting a game up.

Unused Maps#

PH_weapons.cew#

A map used to test weapons. The last weapon you have selected is the AA Gun from the Wake Island and Guadalcanal 1 missions.

test_all_actors.cew#

A simple map with an untextured floor and no skybox to test the characters.

Revisional differences#

To do:
Any other differences between the faulty version and the later release.

Initial copies of the game were released in a rush to meet the deadline, resulting in an incredibly buggy mess (mostly caused by severely misaligned hitboxes and screwy physics), almost to the point of being unplayable. Activision would later recall all faulty copies and publish a fixed version of the game.
