The Goonies (NES, Famicom Disk System)

Konami's first take on the famous movie, in which an unnamed hero must rescue six Goonie children and a woman from the clutches of the Fratellis. While the Famicom version was only released in Japan, it did see a US exclusive arcade release on the PlayChoice-10 and the Nintendo Vs. System (aptly titled Vs. The Goonies).

Build Dates#

Present at the beginning of the PRG ROM. A similar ID string can be found in a few other Konami games.

The FDS version updated the Konami logo and copyright date.

Stage 2#

Famicom	FDS

In the Famicom version, the player begins Stage 2 by dropping down next to a jet stream. Since this could easily cause the player to be injured if no heat-resistant clothing had been obtained, the starting position was altered in the FDS version.
