The Apeman Strikes Again

This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

The Apeman Strikes Again is a blatant Donkey Kong clone where the Apeman says "He is coming for you!" whenever the player completes a level.

The letters K, Q, X, and Z are in the ROM, but never used. The X and Z are used in the Italian version, though.

Four unused sprites for the princess. They were supposed to be animation for the princess getting carried by the Apeman, but the non-animated was used instead.

Some sprites that look like a baby version of the ape, likely meant to be this game's version of Donkey Kong Jr.

Regional Differences#

There's a few differences between the Italian and international versions.

  • For whatever reason, the Italian version has no sound effects other than the music.

International

Italy

  • Aside from the title and language changes, the Italian version lacks the credits and does not have a voice when the game boots up.

International

Italy

  • The Italian version removes the "OIL" label from the oil can and fixes a ladder's placement.
