Unused Graphics#
Placeholder#
The text, pronounced "aki", translates to "nothing".
Box#
Sort of resembles a treasure chest. Cheats must be used to place this in your inventory.
Kazuo's Lighter#
Unseen in normal gameplay. If his lighter is hacked into the regular inventory, this graphic will be used if it's swapped.
Magnet#
No obvious purpose for this one. Cheats must be used to place this in your inventory.
Torch#
Either intended as something with a different level of radiance from the Candle, or replaced by it entirely. Since activating the generator happens so early in the game anyway, it was probably not needed. Cheats must be used to place this in your inventory.
Lady Mamiya#
Unused Lady Mamiya graphics. It is currently unknown where or when these were to appear.
Hands#
It is currently unknown, but these hands may have been from a quick-time event that was cut.
Faceless Doppelgängers#
There are faceless versions of the doppelgängers including Yamamura! All of these are also present in the prototype. These faceless variants are not seen in normal gameplay and cheats must be used to see them.
Unused Items#
Dirk#
It's unknown where this could have been used. Cheats must be used to place this in your inventory.
Light#
A palette swap of the Flashlight that can damage Bats. Cheats must be used to place this in your inventory.
Old Spear#
An unused weapon. It adds 28 Attack and 10 Spiritual Attack when equipped.
Secret Pathways#
The Dungeon has a secret path to the Basement which is easily missable by the player as the game never gives any indication or clues towards its existence. It can only be opened from the dungeon with a Mallet. Present in the Prototype.
Ichirou's Study
There is a warp that leads from a couch in Ichirou's Study to the steps just above the Dining Room area. This warp exists in both the final release and the prototype. Perhaps the developers intended for this warp to be here in case you get stuck without a Pick since there is an ice room right above this room. In the prototype, ice does not affect the selected party members.
Debug#
Game Genie code XVUUNZAV will re-enable some debug leftovers at the title screen. A set of numbers will appear at the bottom-right corner of the screen. A changes the number to edit, Left/Right will increase/decrease the number by 1, and Up/Down will increase/decrease the number by $10. The numbers represent the room each character was in when the game was saved. 55 is the very first room in the game. When a character leaves a room and the game is saved, after resetting you will see the numbers change. Changing those numbers manually on the title screen will unfortunately delete your save data.
