Saint Sword is basically a Rastan Saga clone. The game is also one of the last games developed by Cyclone System.
Unused Graphics#
This "Coming soon" graphic is loaded with the title screen graphics in the Japanese version. It was likely used in some sort of demo version of the game.
Special Passwords#
When checking the password entered, the game first checks a table of 6 special passwords.
680001#
The first password enables all special features. A stage select and ending viewer opens by setting FF001C to 0001. This same address and byte set also enables infinite time and full magic. Memory address FF002C is set to 0001 which disables collision detection.
680000#
This sets FF002C to 0000 (standard collision) and FF001C to 0000 (stage select and ending viewer off). In other words, this password doesn't do anything special.
SOUND0#
This jumps to several subroutines and sets memory address FF0028 to 0001. Music and sound effects are disabled.
SOUND1#
Memory address FF0028 is set to 0000. This is the default – music and sound effects are enabled.
680002#
Memory address FF001C is set to 0002. The stage select and ending viewer menu opens, but infinite time and full magic isn't enabled when the game starts. Use this password if you want normal gameplay after using the stage select.
680003#
Use this password to begin the game on chapter 1 with collision disabled (memory address FF002C set to 0001).
