Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45: making realism fun since 2006. It would later receive a sequel, Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad.

Red Orchestra Mod leftovers#

The texture package “ROInterfaceArt” consists of leftovers from when Red Orchestra was an Unreal Tournament 2003 (later Unreal Tournament 2004) mod.

Unused Models#

Maxim Gorky II#

An unused model named “MaximGorkyII” can be found in the “artillery” section of the “MilitaryAlliesSM” model package. In real life, the Maxim Gorky II was a coastal fortress used by the Soviets in WWII. Presumably, this model would have been part of a cut map set on said fortress.

Tiger Tank#

Two unused alternate models for the Tiger tank can be found in the “tiger1” section of the “axis_vehicles_stc” package. They are untextured versions of the in-game Tiger tank model with crude-looking people sticking out of certain parts of the tank.

Unfinished Lamps#

There are 2 lamp models that use unfinished textures that only show UV maps, which can be found in the "FurnitureSM" static mesh package.

Hidden Texture Messages#

Some of the weapon textures have either messages from the texture artist or humorous pictures in them.

Cut Howard Dean Easter Egg#

Howard Dean Scream

The Howard Dean scream found in the files, according to the code in the ROPawn class it was supposed to be a 0.001% chance to play. However, that code is commented out of the PlayDyingSound function so thus it doesn't ever happen in game.
