Quo Vadis is an action-adventure game known for two things: having 1,024 screens, and for the publisher holding a contest offering a £10,000 gold scepter to the first person who completed a specific riddle-based puzzle in the game and sent in the solution. Apparently, the scepter was never claimed despite numerous entries having been submitted, with speculation arising that The Edge had never actually intended to award the scepter (and never released the "official" solution, either).
Unused Graphics#
There are several unused sprites meant to appear in the game's title screen, consisting of the letters "TORY". They can be found at 0x1D7D of the program data:
To view these graphics in-game in VICE, load the game, do a soft reset, and type the following commands:
poke 26188,224
sys 3488
The player will then be taken to a variant of the title screen with these unused graphics. It appears "TORY" was part of a graphic showing an earlier name for the game, but the other graphics appear to have been overwritten with the new ones.
