Power Piggs of the Dark Age is a platformer serving as a very loose adaptation of the Three Little Pigs fairytale, starring three pigs (only one of which actually appears in the game itself) going up against the wicked Wizzard of Wolff and his "most evil invention ever" (which also does not actually appear in the game) with the power of donuts. Get it?
Despite being the only Power Piggs thing out there, it feels remarkably like it would've been based on some Saturday morning cartoon, especially with the short comic included in the manual clearly being made up of scans of animation cels, and that's because it was intended to be. The company responsible for the IP, Barr Entertainment, had planned on following up the game with a full-on animated series, even producing a sizzle reel for it as well as a series bible that the game developers and press coverage used as reference. Ultimately, as is the case with so many attempted multimedia projects, this game was one of only two projects they were involved with that actually made it to release (the other being Sküljagger: Revolt of the Westicans, another SNES platformer that was clearly meant to be part of something bigger).
