A port of the NES version, but more polished, and has a much better ending.

The options and castle's graphics are moved up in the US version, as the logo is shorter. It also adds the trademark symbol.
Password#
The Japanese version uses 16 katakana characters, while the US version uses 16 consonants. Interestingly, both versions seem to have interchangeable passwords. For example, entering all コ's in the Japanese version starts you out with some items and crystals. The equivalent character in the US version is M, so entering the password to be all Ms will have the same effect.

The Japanese version has the developers using zany aliases. The US version changes their aliases to the common first name initial + surname, probably because American players wouldn't get the names.
