M&M's Shell Shocked

This article has a talk page! This article has a talk page!

It's Crash Bandicoot with M&M's characters (get it?). Not only that, but it's also a significantly watered-down port of the PC game M&M's The Lost Formulas (with the most notable difference being that the Math Zones were axed here).

This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically:

  • There's apparently regional differences. Document them here.
  • Find out what "Run Mode" does ingame, if anything.

Debug Menu#

Please elaborate.
Having more detail is always a good thing.
Specifically: What are the controls for the sprite viewer?

To reach the debug menu, press L1, L2, Left, Right, Up, Down, R1, R2 on the level select screen.

The following options are available:

  • Print prints debug information to the bottom of the screen.
  • Yellow turns on/off the rendering of Yellow and can be used to travel through the level freely.
  • God Mode allows for Yellow to be invincible, and has a few developer tools:
    • Triangle respawns Yellow above from the current position.
    • R1 grants an extra life.
    • R2 skips the current level.
    • L2 opens a sprite viewer.
  • Run Mode has an unknown effect.
  • MUSIC does nothing, but is implied to be a sound test.

  • VIDEO leads to a (rather glitchy) menu that allows you to view the game's cinematics.

  • Choose Level leads to a level select.
  • Back to Game is self-explanatory.

NOCARD.TIM is an earlier version of the "Memory Card full" screen, which says to press any key to continue instead of the usual two-button prompts. It's also worth noting that the gramatically incorrect message is kept in the final game.

LOAD.TIM is an early loading screen. In final version, every loading screen is different to reflect the current level.
