Logically, the Amiga version of the puzzle game Logical.
Hidden Messages#
Programmer complaint#
At $1cf8e in the main game executable !logical, a hidden developer message appears:
Dieses Programm ist in GFA-Basic 3.51D Amiga geschrieben.
Ich habe nur eine Lehre daraus gezogen: NEVERMORE!
In reinem Assembler programmiert wäre es fast ein halbes Jahr früher fertig geworden.
GFA-Basic ist ein einziger Bug!
This translates roughly to:
This program is written in GFA-Basic 3.51D Amiga.
The only lesson I've learned from that: NEVERMORE!
In pure assembler, this would have been finished almost half a year earlier.
GFA-Basic is one single bug!
Apparently, GFA Basic was not very pleasant to work with. The message was presumably left by the Amiga version's programmer, Volker Eloesser.
Title screen art#
The file between.raw, used for the title screen graphics, includes yellow text that reads, "Hansi ist doof" ("Hans is stupid"). It's unclear who Hans is, but it may refer to Hans Ippisch, who worked as an independent game designer for Rainbow Arts and went on to work as a magazine editor for Computec.
The message was presumably left by the game's graphic designer, Hakan Akbiyik. After this game, he went on to work as a programmer on Dungeons of Avalon, which also had a hidden message mentioning Hans Ippisch.
Other#
As can be seen when unpacking the disk image, the game executable is called !logical (read as: NOT logical). This might be a in-joke by the developers.
